The Times Square Alliance has officially announced the return of TSQ LIVE, a massive, completely free outdoor performance series running from May through September. For local remote professionals, solopreneurs, and visitors looking for a perfect lunchtime break or a way to unwind after a productive workday, this series brings hundreds of independent artists, global music collectives, and legendary cultural institutions directly into the public pedestrian plazas. Tuesdays: Live Nightlife and Global DJ Sets


The weekly rhythm kicks off every Tuesday evening at 5:00 PM on the Broadway Pedestrian Plaza between 45th and 46th Streets, bringing the energy of the New York nightlife scene into the open air. The series feature a dynamic mix of electronic dance music and global rhythms. Highlights include a special Caribbean-American Heritage celebration called Fete in Times Square, presented by the multidisciplinary cultural venture I AM CARIBBEING on June 2. On June 9 and September 9, the plazas will host Deep Root Records, a major imprint known for showcasing deep, organic house music that incorporates diverse world elements.


Wednesdays: Midday Reprieves and Evening Dance Classes


Wednesdays feature a brand-new addition specifically designed for the local workforce, remote professionals, and office employees. From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, TSQ LIVE is hosting lunchtime music performances across various Broadway pedestrian plazas. Presented in partnership with MTA Arts & Design, these intimate sets offer a perfect midday break, inviting you to grab lunch, step out of the office, and enjoy acoustic diversity ranging from classical strings and jazz to world music bands.


Later in the day, Wednesdays shift from listening to moving. At 5:00 PM, the plaza between 45th and 46th Streets transforms into an open-air dance floor with free public workshops hosted by Ailey Extension. These classes are designed for all experience levels, from absolute beginners to seasoned dancers, and will celebrate Pride and Black Music Month through styles like Mambo and Dancehall. Thursdays: Legendary Cultural Institutions


On Thursdays, the neighborhood welcomes internationally acclaimed musical institutions out of their traditional concert halls and straight onto the public plazas. Carnegie Hall Citywide continues its long-running tradition of free neighborhood concerts by presenting the Gateways Brass Collective on June 4 at 4:00 PM, featuring leading classical and jazz musicians of African heritage.


In August and September, Jazz at Lincoln Center takes over the Thursday evening slot at 5:00 PM. Led by the vision of Wynton Marsalis, they will present eight distinct performances on the outdoor stage, bridging traditional jazz foundations with modern, boundary-pushing compositions.
Fridays: High-Profile Concerts and Family Fun


Fridays offer a massive celebration to kick off the weekend, starting on June 5 at 5:00 PM with a kid-centric family concert experience. Presented by IRoxx Entertainment and the Mayor's Office of Media and Entertainment, this event features two-time Grammy nominee Divinity Roxx alongside Grammy winners FYÜTCH and Lucy Kalantari & the Jazz Cats.


Following the family kickoff, the coveted Summer Friday Concert Series takes place every Friday from June 12 through September 25 at 6:00 PM on the plaza between 45th and 46th Streets. This series focuses heavily on independent artists from the New York City music scene, giving up-and-coming talent a high-profile platform to debut new tracks and albums. The series even includes an open call, allowing independent singers and musicians to apply online for a chance to perform on a stage that sees over 400,000 daily visitors.
