YOGIS WILL RETURN TO TIMES SQUARE FOR THE 23rd ANNUAL

SOLSTICE IN TIMES SQUARE: MIND OVER MADNESS YOGA

Solstice in Times Square Returns in 2025

We're thrilled to announce that one of our neighborhood's most unique and inspiring annual events, Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga, is returning for its 23rd year! On Friday, June 20th, Times Square, the bustling heart of our city, will once again transform into a serene oasis as thousands of yogis gather for a full day of free outdoor yoga classes.

This incredible event, which began over two decades ago with just three participants, has blossomed into a cherished tradition, inviting New Yorkers and visitors alike to discover peace and tranquility amidst the vibrant energy of Times Square. It's a truly remarkable sight to behold, as the "Crossroads of the World" becomes a space for mindful movement and collective calm.

"Times Square is ready once again to welcome the summer season with its annual Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga event with free yoga classes all day long at the busiest intersection on the planet on the longest day of the year,” said Tom Harris, President of the Times Square Alliance. "Each year we watch as New Yorkers and visitors challenge themselves to find peace and calm in the middle of Times Square and then send them off to enjoy everything that the neighborhood has to offer.”

Douglass Stewart, Solstice in Times Square Co-Founder, encapsulates the spirit of the day perfectly: “Grow, flow and glow! Let the sun and the practice of yoga shine away habits that no longer serve. Realign to life affirming qualities inspired by amazing teachers and fellow yogis at the annual Summer Solstice in Times Square: Mind Over Madness Yoga.”

What to Expect on the Day

Beyond the invigorating yoga sessions, participants can explore the Yoga Village located between 43rd and 45th Streets, featuring booths, giveaways, and activities from event sponsors including BetterAlt, Consulate General of India in New York, Gaiam, Lifeway Kefir, Muscle Milk, RYZE Superfoods, and smartwater. Registered attendees will also receive a complimentary yoga mat courtesy of Gaiam and a gift bag from RYZE, while supplies last.

Even if you can't make it in person, you can still participate! All classes will be streamed live on TSQ.org/Solstice via YouTube and on the Times Square Facebook Page, allowing everyone to join in from the comfort of their home.
